On August 26, 2025, at approximately 8:42 PM, I, Officer Thomas Lambert was assigned to East-1 during the 4PM-12AM shift. I was dispatched to 105 Middlesex Avenue (TJ MAXX) for a shoplifter. The individual was described as a Hispanic male wearing a brown sweatshirt with a gray and black hat. East-2 Officer Keighla McAloney and Sierra-8 Sergeant Samir Messaoudi responded as well.

Prior to my arrival, dispatch updated responding units that the male was currently filling up a back pack and getting ready to leave the store. Once again dispatch stated the male, later identified as Mr. Jimmy Tirado was passing Ashley Furniture head toward The Home Depot. Officers located Mr. Tirado just before 5 Middlesex Avenue and Loss Prevention Officers were behind him with the stolen merchandise. Mr. Tirado crossed all points of purchase without any items to pay for the items totaling $247.87. All items were inside of a duffel bag that was also stolen from the store.

Unit 200, Officer Priscilla Ribeiro arrived on scene and transported Mr. Tirado back to Somerville Police Headquarters where he was booked in the usual manner by the shift commander, Sergeant Steve St. Hillaire.

Mr. Tirado is being charged with the following:
