The following is a brief summary of incident/investigation # 25070148.

On Sunday, November 9, 2025, I, Officer PAVAO, was assigned to the West 5. I was dispatched, along with E4 Officer FUSCO, to the area of Elm Street and Porter Street for two males who had caught someone trying to break into a vehicle.

Upon arrival, I located the three males in front of XX Elm Street. Mr. XXXX, his brother, Mr. XXXX, and Mr. John GRASSO, XXXX stated that he was in his kitchen and looked outside and observed GRASSO walking by and looking into his backyard. XXXX found this a little suspicious, so he walked over to the front door and noticed GRASSO sitting inside the back seat of his sister's car, rummaging through the vehicle, which was parked in front of the house. XXXX walked outside and asked GRASSO what he was doing inside the car. GRASSO exited the vehicle and proceeded to run down Linden Avenue and left onto Elm Street, dropping a roll of quarters that he had taken from the car. XXXX and his brother XXXX proceeded to run after GRASSO, catching him in front of XX Elm Street until officers arrived. I placed GRASSO in handcuffs and requested Unit 200 to pick up GRASSO and transport him back to the station to be booked by the Commander. Officer FUSCO remained on the scene with GRASSO.

I returned to 7 Linden Ave with the XXXX brothers to obtain the vehicle registration information. XXXX stated that his sister had been doing laundry at the laundromat and was bringing items back into the house, so at the time of the break, the doors to the vehicle were unlocked.

GRASSO was charged with B AND E VEHICLE,BOAT DAYTIME FOR FELONY C266/S18/E.
