On Thursday, July 22, 2025 I, Officer Thomas Lambert was assigned marked unit East-1. At approximately, 3:11 PM, I was dispatched to 499 Foley Street (MBTA Station) for a report of a male with a knife sticking out of his sock. East-4 Officer Keighla McAloney responded as well.

Upon my arrival, dispatch stated the male was possibly Hispanic with facial hair, a black fishing hat and large blue suitcase was walking toward Legoland. Assembly Row Security was able to give me a direction of travel to which they stated he walked inside of the MBTA Station (Foley Street side). I observed a Hispanic male, who is known to me from previous interactions, Mr. XXXX who appeared to be wearing a green T-shirt, khaki shorts and black shoes. Mr. XXXX was carrying a purple backpack and next to him was a large blue suitcase, black duffle bag and a white sock with an unknown hard object inside of it. Due to reports of a knife being involved and for Officer safety, I placed Mr. XXXX in handcuffs.

Mr. XXXX had a black wig and black fishing hat inside of the purple backpack that was on his person. Next to Mr. XXXX feet was a white sock with a silver kitchen knife inside of it that was consistent with the reporting parties initial call. Inside of the blue suitcase was approximately 16 pairs of sneakers with security devices still attached to them. Mr. XXXX also had a black duffle back that was filled with multiple bottles of beauty products with the tags still on them. All items totaled approximately $994.67. Assembly Row Security was able to provide me with a preview of Mr. XXXX wearing the black fishing hat, black wig and gray sweatshirt. I was also able to speak with Burlington Coat Factory employees who stated Mr. XXXX wore the disguise when he entered the store and shoplifted. They stated he exited all points of payment and did not make any attempt to purchase the items. While outside of the store Mr. XXXX removed the black fishing hat, black wig and gray sweatshirt. Due to my training and experience I believe Mr. XXXX this in an attempt to hide his identity so the description given to Officers would not match and he could evade Officers. While I was inside of the store I was able to locate the tags from the blue suitcase as well as the black duffle bag. The security devices were found next to the price tags and had been cut off in an attempt to avoid setting off the security alarm at the exit.

Through a query via CJIS, dispatch notified me that Mr. XXXX had 5 outstanding warrants as well. Mr. XXXX was transported by Unit 200, Officer Patrick Barton back to Somerville Police Headquarters and booked in the usual manner by the shift commander, Lieutenant Michael Capasso.

Mr. XXXX is being charged with the following:

-CH.266 S.30 LARCENY UNDER $1200

-CH.266 S.30B REMOVAL OF THEFT DETECTION DEVICE

-CH.268 S.34 DISGUISE TO OBSTRUCT JUSTICE

- CO POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS WEAPON

The black fishing hat, black wig, gray sweatshirt and silver knife were all logged into evidence.

Respectfully submitted,
