On November 13, 2025 I, Officer Keighla McAloney was assigned to marked unit S3, (Alpha-1). At approximately 2:40 PM, I entered Reebok, 540 Assembly Row to return merchandise from a previous shoplifting (JP #25071147 & JP #25071138). As I approached the counter one of the employees pointed across the street and stated, "she just shoplifted." I confirmed that it was the female, now entering American Eagle.
I then entered American Eagle, 541 Assembly Row, located across the street. I advised the female, later identified as Ms. XXXX that Reebok reported that she had just shoplifted. XXXX opened her bag and stated she put the merchandise back because she "got scared." I'd note, XXXX at first gave me a fake name of " XXXX, DOB: XXXX)."
Assembly Security then stated XXXX was with a male that had shoplifted with her, and pointed out a gray motor vehicle parked out front of American Eagle occupied by that male.
I observed a male in the passenger seat of Massachusetts Registration XXXX, a gray 2012 Mazda Station wagon. The male had a bulge coming from his chest, under his jacket, he was asked to step out.
The male was identified as Mr. Kristian ROMAN. I asked ROMAN if he wanted to tell me what the bulge was to which he stated he shoplifted a pair of shoes from Reebok. I removed the shoes from his person and placed him in handcuffs for officer safety as I was the only officer on scene.
I asked XXXX about a pair of Reebok sneakers that were in the back seat of the vehicle. These sneakers were able to be seen through the window and located behind the drivers side seat. She went onto say she stole them from Reebok and threw them in the vehicle before entering American Eagle.
Somerville Police Dispatch confirmed that ROMAN had an active warrant for his arrest (Docket Number 2415CR003760). He was placed under arrest for the warrant as well as the charge, Shoplifting by Concealing Mdse., c266 S30A. Unit 200, operated by Officer D. Dottin, was requested and transported ROMAN back to the Somerville Police Headquarters. He was booked by Lt. Capasso in the usual manner.
XXXX was told she was free to leave the scene, she took control of ROMANs backpack, per ROMANs request. I will be filing a summons in Somerville District Court for the charge of Shoplifting by Concealing Mdse., c266 S30A against XXXX.
Respectfully,
Officer Keighla McAloney
