On Sunday, November 16, 2025, while working my assigned shift in patrol cruiser West-6, I was dispatched to 6 Banks St. for a report of an attempted B&E. Patrol cruiser West-7, Ofc. M. Canty was dispatched as backup.

Upon arrival we found Mr. Matthew Henebury asleep on the ground on the right side of the house in front of a closed gate. After several attempts wake him he finally propped up very hostile and proceeded to say he did not do anything wrong and that he was coming from a party. I asked where this party was and he stated it was inside of 6 Banks St and that his friend lived there. I asked for his friends name or if anybody was still at this party and he told us he would no longer be answering questions.

I then spoke with the reporting party, Mr. XXXX, who stated that he was in his kitchen located at XXX Elm St., when he saw a male jump the fence located on the left side of 6 Banks St. He proceeded to watch this male attempt to forcefully push and pull on the door located on the back porch of 6 Banks St. After several failed attempts Mr. XXXX stated that the male then attempted to push open the window located to the left of the door a couple times. After failing to do so he jumped back over the fence to the side of the house. Mr. XXXX watched this male rip off the screen window for the basement and put his face up against it as if he was looking for something inside. He then attempted to push the window but failed to open it and walked away. Mr. XXXX felt uneasy about what he saw so decided to talk a walk to 6 Banks St and saw the same male on the right side of the house on the ground yelling to himself. He then called 911.

I attempted to speak with the resident of 6 Banks St but nobody was home at the time.

Upon running his information we were notified that he had one active warrant. Due to the warrant and Mr. Henebury's multiple attempts to enter the residence, he was placed under arrest. Unit-200, operated by Officer Barton, responded to 6 Banks St, and Mr. Henebury was transported back to Somerville Police Headquarters, where he was booked in the usual manner by the shift commander, Lt. Capasso.

Mr. Henebury will be charged with the following:

274/6 Attempt to commit a crime. 1 count

Respectfully submitted,
